As one of the oldest members of Turn A Page, Touch A Mind, Ashley Clinic, LLC in Chanute has distributed over 10,000 books to their patients 6 months through 5 years old at well check visits since 2003.  The 11 participating TAP-TAM providers, Marty Dillow, MD, David Guernsey, MD, Brian Kueser, MD, Bruce Lee, DO, Amy Madril, MD, Greta McFarland, MD, Robert Thomen, MD, Demie Ahlquist, PA, Karen Hayes, ARNP, Mark Harms, PA, and Mark Milner, PA have used books to build relationships with families, and share early literacy advice with parents at each well check visit.  "This program is great!  When one of my little 15 month old friends came in, his mother said 'It's about time for his new book!  He really loved the last one, and there isn't much left of it!'" shared one of the Ashley Clinic, LLC physicians.

Ashley Clinic, LLC has also used TAP-TAM to reach out to the community through advertising their gently used book program, and received an outpouring of support.  "I have families that take a book every time they visit, and I suspect that these are some of the only books that they own," said an Ashley Clinic physician.  Because of the success of their gently used book program, Ashley Clinic, LLC makes sure that siblings and sick kids can have a book when they come in, which takes the program to another level.  Thank you for all of the work that you have done promoting early literacy in Chanute, Ashley Clinic!
