| Part of the more than 50 Ashley Clinic employees who wore pink to work Friday to support Passionately Pink for the Cure, a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, are pictured. Passionately Pink for the Cure is a new fundraising and education program begun Oct. 1, the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each employee who wore pink also donated $5 to the cause. Suzanne Stanley, operations manager, said Ashley Clinic employees enjoy supporting the Komen Foundation because the organization in turn supports the Early Detection Works Program, a program funded with Komen grants and administered by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment that provides free mammograms, breast exams and other services to uninsured women. The Ashley Clinic has provided Early Detection Works services to several patients, Stanley said. |
